Reminder: Bookmarks needed

Thank you so much to Julie, Jo-Ann, and Debby for sending bookmarks for me to give to my students. You guys rock --- and I really appreciate it! There's still time if you're willing to help. See my original post here for more details.

Baptism Card

My step-brother-in-law's twins (that's a mouthful) are getting baptised this weekend, so this is the card I made to go with their gift. I love these little footprint stamps, and the paper is from Diecuts With a View (the kids' pack). Thanks for looking!

Kim Rocks!

We did an April RAK Swap with my SBS-8 sisters, and my sister Kim sent me an awesome package yesterday! The card is adorable with many of my favorite things - pink, a daisy, Cuttlebug embossing, and a bella. LOVE the card, Kim.

She also sent me 5 stamped Bela images and a clear stamp mini-set. I can't wait to play! All of the Belas are so adorable, I'm tempted to head back to their website and buy a few more. Think Kim could get a commission? Thanks again for the goodies, Kim ---- and thanks for arranging this, Nancy. Happy Thursday!

Creating a Signature

OK, so I'm easily entertained. It's true! I've been seeing people with signatures on their blog entries, which I really like, and now I've found information on making one myself. If you want to make a signature, check out My Live Signature. It's really easy - I promise! Then Allison has directions on her blog for how to add your new signature to your blog. Enjoy!

Lucky Girl

Even though yesterday was definitely not my day, today I'm feeling like a lucky girl, looking at the pictures I have to share with you today. Yesterday started with locking my keys in my car. My dad and my friend Wendi rescued me, so this is the card I made Wendi.

Below is a picture of the awesome RAK package I got from Yosha (through Courtney's April RAK swap. I just love the card - so beautiful - and of course flowers are a favorite of mine! Thanks so much, Yosha.

Finally, the last thing I have to share is an adorable book made by Sue. I won it as blog candy, and I just love it! Thanks so much, Sue! My friend's daughter just had a baby, and I'm going to add black and white pictures of baby Chloe to the book and give it to the new mom.

WSC43

I created the card below for Beate's Weekend Sketch Challenge #43. I always love a good sketch to inspire me, and this time the card is for my sister-in-law's birthday. I used some scraps of Basic Grey paper that I found while cleaning up, the Cuttlebug swirls embossing template, and light blue Stickles to give it a little sparkle.

Have a great Saturday!

Cuttlebug Embossing with Ink

I saw this fun video tutorial (mentioned by my SBS sister, Kim) where a lady demonstrates a technique I'd never seen. She used a brayer to apply ink to the inside of a Cuttlebug embossing template, then put a piece of paper inside and ran it through the Cuttlebug. Below are 2 cards I made using the technique. Thanks for the inspiration, Kim!

Handmade Bookmarks (for blog candy)

I'm putting this on my blog to see if anyone who reads it is willing to help me.

I'm working with a few teachers who are looking to reward their 9th and 10th grade struggling readers who are being successful. They have money to purchase a book for each student, but I thought it'd be a nice touch if they could also give each student a handmade bookmark.

I'm looking to collect 100 handmade bookmarks by the end of May. I'll need a mix of ones for girls and boys. Whatever size, colors, or stamps you want to use are great! You could include the word READ, a quote about reading, congratulations, or no words at all. Since some people have asked, the school colors are red, white, and blue. (You don't have to use those colors, but you can if you want.)

If you do make any bookmarks, please email (or post a comment here) for my mailing address.

I'll even have a random drawing for blog candy from the people who send bookmarks. Feel free to share this with any fellow crafters who also may be willing to help. I know the students will really feel special when they hear someone made something just for them. Thanks in advance for your help.

Baby and Engagement

I needed to send 2 cards today, and believe it or not, I couldn't find ones that fit in my stash. For the baby card, I used the Nursery paper from Die Cuts with a View (LOVE this paper) and one of the new scallop stamps from SU (LOVE this set).

One of my new teachers got engaged this weekend, so I made him (and his fiance) this card. Most of my wedding stamps are more for girls, so it was tough to choose a stamp. Even though the card's for a guy, I still used Stickles to add a little sparkle. Hope this isn't too girly for him!

Thanks for looking. Hope you're having a good week.
