Gift sets

OK, this is the last of the posts from my crafty weekend - I promise! While we were away, I made these 3 sets of cards. The first and last are for gifts, and the middle set was just playing with Valentine ideas. The first set is for someone who loves frogs. I cut the sentiments on Beth's Cricut, and the borders are from my Nesties.

Valentine's ideas

When we went to Michaels, I found flocking on sale and thought, "Why not?" How fun! I'd never used it but really love the 3-D effect. The stripes and dots on the hearts are fuzzy in real life.

The last set come from new paper I got that with funky letters on it. Beth called these my Retro card set.

For the 1/26 birthdays

Four people in our office have birthdays on Tuesday, so I made these cards on our crafty getaway last weekend. For the first card, I used my favorite Nesties (the labels) and embossed them. (Yeah for the embossing mat!)

The next card features "Happy Birthday" cut on Beth's Cricut and the same fun paper from the first card. Love these colors.

For the next card, I cut the white part off of a card from a set at Michaels. They had 8 cards for $1, but I didn't like the base. Cutting it apart and making my own card seemed like a good solution.

The last card is a little more plain because it's for a guy. Of course, I realized later that purple glitter frosting porbably isn't very male, but oh well!

My New Toy

When we first saw ads for the Cricut and a friend got one, Lou asked if I wanted one. I said no, that I had plenty of other scrapbooking things and I didn't need it. Then, Beth brought hers to our OC crafting weekend, and I was hooked. I came home that day and found a great deal on a Cricut Create on ebay with local pickup. Here it is:

This is the first card I made with it. My Cricut came with the Don Juan cartridge, so I cut out the flower, the letters, and the brackets on this card:

Happy Friday. Have a good weekend, friends!

The Sweet Stop

I based this card of a sketch from The Sweet Stop. 4 people at work have birthdays on the same day next week, so this card will be for one of them.

Bella cards

I made my Aunt Mary a gift set of cards featuring her adorable puppy, Bella. Hope she likes them!

Pink and Black Set

This weekend, my friend Beth and I spent two and a half wonderful days crafting in Ocean City. We watched lots of HGTV, ate yummy (but really bad-for-us) food, made 2 trips to Michaels and Starbucks, and were very crafty. I made 41 cards (4 gift sets), a mini-book (for a gift) and 3 scrapbook pages. Whew!

Here's one of my favorite sets I made - pink and black daisies!

Top Note Die Box

I found this tutorial to make a Top Note Die Box and had to try it. Being my first try, I'll fix a few things for next time, but I like it. The tutorial suggests using a magnet or velcro to keep the box closed. I didn't have any magnets, and the velcro made it too bulky, so I used ribbon to tie it shut. When I saw the inside of the box, I thought it'd be cute for homemade candies to give as Valentine's gifts. Now we'll have to see if I get around to making the candies (and more boxes).

Inspiration in Action 115

I'm actually working ahead. (Can you believe I don't need this card until February?) I used the Inspiration in Action Weekend Sketch Challenge from Gretchen Barron's blog, and I love it! Sketches always make me think outside of the box, which is why I love them so much. Have a great day.

Mojo 120

For my sister-in-law's birthday, I used this week's Mojo Monday sketch. I love the bright colors, and I finally figured out how to emboss using my Nestabilities and the embossing mat. Have a great weekend, crafty friends.

Taylored Expressions Sketch #96

I just found this great site with sketch challenges called Taylored Expressions, thanks to my awesome blogging friend Gwen. (You really should check out Gwen's blog -she rocks!) I had to use this new stamp from Christmas and more paper from My Mind's Eye. I figured if we have to use another snow day, I should do something to enjoy it. Happy Friday, friends!

Papertake Sketch #31

I was having fun searching for sketch challenges and inspiration online this morning. The next card comes from Papertake's Weekly Challenge sketch #31. I started with this piece of blue and brown scrap paper, and I used the last of my new Christmas present stamps (the tree). Thanks for the inspiration!

Cardvarks sketch

Any sketch that includes flowers definitely catches my eye, including this one from Cardvarks.

Mojo Monday 117

As I continue making thank you notes, I used another Mojo Monday sketch as my inspiration. The flower stamp is another Christmas present (thanks again, Mom), and I cut out some extra flowers to add to the sentiment. More thank you notes to come .....

Rearranged Scrapbook Room

Last night, my wonderful hubby rewired the cable and set up a TV for me in my scrapbook room. I love it. I think it's been on HGTV since I plugged it in last night, but with my crafty toys around me and HGTV in front of me, I may never leave the room. Come visit!
