Valentine Blog Candy and Challenge

OK ladies, I think we need a challenge to get us inspired. (I know I do!) I put together a goody package of blog candy to go to the winner of this challenge. The prizes include 3-D stickers, rub-ons, tags, ribbon, envelopes, and more.

Here's what you have to do to be entered in the blog candy challenge. Create a masculine Valentine's Day card. This is always the biggest challenge to me this time of year, because I naturally gravitate towards pink, flowers, hearts, and glitter, which don't exactly scream "GUY."

There are no limits on the card - just create a masculine Valentine's card and post it on your blog. Then come back to this blog entry and post a comment with a link to your card. Make sense? If not, feel free to ask questions. Hope to see lots of cards - tell your friends so we all get good ideas!

You have until Friday, January 23rd at noon (EST) to make and post your card. I'm going scrapbooking with friends that weekend, but I'll try to post the winner when I return on Sunday.

PS - If you want to play but don't have a blog, just email me a picture of your card (or show me in person), and I'll put you in the drawing.

Valentine ideas

I needed something fun and relaxing tonight, so I came in my newly-cleaned craft room and took out all of my Valentine stamps. I made these 3 cards to get started, and while I'm not madly in love with any of them, they'll do. I'm hoping to play again soon and find some more ideas from online.

Sisterhood of the Blogging Stampers #27

Hi ladies!

My name is Kelly, and I'm 33 years old. I live in Maryland with my husband and our "baby," a 4 year old Bichon Frise named Daisy. (She's also featured in several posts and numerous scrapbook pages - I guess that's what happens when you don't have kids yet!)

After teaching high school English for 8 years, I now work in Professional Development for a local school system, training teachers and working especially with our new teachers, which I really enjoy.

I found the siterhood site when searching around other stamping and scrapping blogs, and it looked like fun. I joined SBS-8 about this time last year and had a great time meeting new people and being inspired by their work. Our group isn't active any more, so a couple of the other girls decided to join a new SBS group to continue the fun, and I just couldn't resist! I started my blog a little over a year ago, but I've been crafting, stamping, and scrapbooking for years. Thanks for stopping by - can't wait to see your work.

Top Note thank you cards

My aunt got me the awesome Top Note die by Sizzix (from Stampin Up) for Christmas. I'd been wanting it, and she just happened to ask what I wanted when I had just seen some really cool ideas with it. Since it's my favorite new toy, I had to use it to make thank you notes for Christmas. :)

I got the idea for these cards from one I saw on Splitcoast - check it out. Thanks for the inspiration!

Gift set - Humor in High Heels

I'm making the last of my gifts and even though I finished shopping weeks early, I'm still rushing around trying to finish up the end of the Christmas gifts and preparation. I made a set of cards for my best friend using the "Humor in High Heels" set from SU. She loves shoes, so I figured it was the perfect set for her. I included some of them below.

Have fun finishing your Christmas crafts and wrapping and decorating and baking and ..... all!

Simply Said - Thank You

I made 3 of these as thank you notes for my friends from work. (We did our Christmas early - last week - complete with lunch by a warm fire. More work days need to include that!) Anyway, one of my presents was new Cuttlebug emossing folders from Wendi, so I used this one for the thank yous. Love it!

Ornament Gift Card Holder

After shopping for the better part of 13 hours yesterday, I've been organizing all of the gifts from the Black Friday madness. I wanted to dress up the gift card I bought my sister-in-law, but since they live in Alaska, I needed something I could ship easily. Below are pictures of the front and back of the ornament gift card holder I made her; check out the easy video directions here from ChicnScratch on You Tube. Next time, I think I'll make it with my Nestabilities scallop. Fun, fun! Happy Christmas crafting....

Hope you had a great Thanksgiving.

Happy Holidays - swap

This is the card I made for a Christmas card swap. It has to use only SU stamps, have multiple layers, and be "good quality." I hope it fits the bill! If you're interested in participating, let me know and I'll pass along the information.

RAK from Marge

What a great surprise after a long Monday to come home and find a present in my mailbox from my SBS8 sister, Marge! She made me a cute thank you card for the goodies I sent her and even used the stamp on the front of the card. Too cute.

She also sent me some adorable stamped images of shoes to go with the great quotes from my new SU "Humor in High Heels" set. Thanks, Marge. You made my day!

Card-Making Party

So I took my sample cards, 4 bags of supplies, and lots of excitement to my friend Wendi's house yesterday for a full-day of card-making with the girls. I made about 25 cards and laughed a lot. I ended up adding a piece of cotton ball to the end of the Santa hat to complete the card, so here's the Christmas card (or some variation) that most people on our list will get this year.

I also made a couple cards with our favorite Daisy picture from this year. I couldn't resist!

more Christmas card ideas

I've been playing with some more Christmas card ideas, and while I may make some different ones for different people, I think I have a new favorite. The first one is ok but not "the one" - I do like the pink patterned paper, though. (It's from the new DCWV Christmas Stack.)

Here's my current favorite. (Ignore the glare from the flash.) I did the card first without the hat, and I knew it needed something else. Then I was reminded of Wendi's suggestion - take a picture of Daisy in a Santa hat. Since she doesn't like to cooperate, this Santa hat stamp was a great solution and the perfect size for her head. Hope you like it as much as I do!

Christmas Photo Cards

OK, these are the last ones for today. I promise! I'm looking to make some Christmas cards with our "family" photo (or photos). Check out the 2 below and let me know which you like better. Also, if you have any suggestions for improving them, I've love to hear. Thanks!

Masculine BD Cards

My father-in-law and step-father-in-law both have birthdays this week, so I made these masculine cards to send out tomorrow. I used PageMaps sketches as inspiration, and I have to decide which of the 2 cards to enter in the PageMaps card contest. (I think I choose the first one. My hubby chooses the second one - which do you think?)

Weekend Sketch #64

I made this birthday card for my friend Tina using the sketch from Beate's Weekend Challege and some fun new paper I just bought last week. New paper, Stickles, and sketch always inspire me! Have a great Sunday, ladies.

More deer friends

Can you tell I'm having fun with this set? The snowman is my favorite. I cased him off of a card from Splitcoast and added the Stickles for fun.

Humor in High Heels

Love, love, love this set. :)
I used new Heidi Grace paper and pink Stickles.
Enjoy.
